taste + style
“Fruit for this expressive wine comes from our Veeder Summit Vineyard, where nearly a decade ago we grafted Viognier onto existing rootstock. These young vines are now developing a distinctive personality, creating a delicious aromatic assemblage of white peach and citrus blossom, honeysuckle and jasmine topped with ripe pear. Viognier is fermented in stainless steel and neutral French Oak producing a dry style wine. It displays a surprisingly creamy mouthfeel with a touch of tartness, balanced with peaches and stone fruits, some vanilla and a lovely lingering finish.”- Dave Guffy, Director of Winemaking
Vineyard + Production
The steep mountain slopes and higher elevation vineyards of Mount Veeder take advantage of the cooling marine influence from the San Francisco Bay, providing cool afternoon breezes and warmer nights that create microclimates and produce rich mountain fruit of distinct character.
Food + Wine Pairing
Nectarines and macadamia nuts with honey, fennel-dusted sea scallops or halibut, butter lettuce, shaved fennel and radishes; pistachio brittle all make for terrific pairings with this wine.
