Our Small Block wines honor the winemaker’s art, exploring new vineyards, unusual varietals and artisan winemaking techniques. The vineyards on Mount Veeder reflect our founder’s vision of winemaking and grape-growing working in harmony to reveal the best expressions of mountain fruit. Flavors of grapefruit, lychee and honeysuckle dominate, with a round mouthfeel but a noticeably crisp, fresh finish.

taste + style
“Mountain grown Pinot Gris offers another look at this multi-faceted wine with aromas and flavors of grapefruit joined by elegant aromas of citrus blossom, spring meadow flowers and hints of spice. Round and crisp, the dominant flavors are grapefruit and lychee, with white pepper and influences of honeysuckle. Grapes are whole cluster pressed, fermented in neutral oak barrels and not allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation. This refreshing wine is a staple throughout the spring and summer season, and graces the holiday table at Thanksgiving with class.” –Dave Guffy, Director of Winemaking
Vineyard + Production
The steep mountain slopes and higher elevation vineyards of Mount Veeder take advantage of the cooling marine influence from the San Francisco Bay, providing cool afternoon breezes and warmer nights that create microclimates and produce rich mountain fruit of distinct character.
