Hess Small Block Series Pinot Gris
Blend: 100% Pinot Gris
Appellation: Napa Valley
Analysis: Alcohol: 13.9% | pH: 3.19 | TA: 0.76 g/mL
Aging: Cool-fermented in 4- to 5-year-old, neutral French oak barrels with no malolactic fermentation
Production: 110 Casess
Tasting Notes: The fruit for the 2011 Mount Veeder Pinot Gris was whole-cluster pressed and only the free-run juice from the lightest press cycles was used. Tropical aromas of star
fruit are echoed on the palate, along with subtle hints of nectarine. Harvested on October 3, 2011 and bottled four months later on February 14, 2012. This short time in barrel speaks to the appeal of a fruity, light-bodied white wine during summer.
