This Small Block Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from legendary Napa vineyards notable in their own right. The Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper vineyard from Oakville is the backbone of the blend, a vineyard first planted in 1877 to grapes, prunes and walnuts, typical of the time.

taste + style
“Intense aromas of anise, violets, brooding black fruit and toasty cedar with chocolate mocha are joined by flavors of sweet black fruits on the mid-palate, finely grained tannins and a long, lingering finish. The richness of the Napa Valley floor comes through, balanced by the distinct fruit from Napa’s eastern hillsides. It’s a wine worthy of the Reserve title, one to enjoy today, or to lie down and enjoy in 2020 or beyond.” – Dave Guffy, Director of Winemaking
Vineyard + Production
The Small Block Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the legendary Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper vineyard in Oakville and the Somerston vineyard in eastern Napa Valley. First planted in 1877 to grapes, prunes and walnuts, today the 45 acre vineyard graces multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The historical touchstone is protected by a conservation easement that will keep this vineyard forever in agriculture. The Somerston vineyard is located in eastern Napa Valley. Similar to Mount Veeder with rolling hillsides from 850 to 2400 feet above sea level, the vineyard was once known as Rancho Cataula, planted for agriculture in the 1840’s.
